The MMR (Monthly Maintenance Report) is the recurring report FedEx Ground linehaul contractors submit to document fleet maintenance compliance — evidence that every tractor is inspected and serviced on schedule. It typically covers, per unit: preventive maintenance performed against due intervals, repairs completed, inspection status, and current odometer.
Why it becomes a monthly scramble
The MMR is easy when the underlying records are current and painful when they are reconstructed at month-end: receipts in a folder, odometer readings from memory, PM dates guessed from invoices. Reconstruction produces two bad outcomes — reports that do not reconcile, and real maintenance lapses discovered only when the report is being written (which is the expensive time to find them).
